Coshocton County, Ohio

Coshocton County is a county located in the state of Ohio of the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Coshocton.

Geography

The County is located just east of the geographic center of Ohio and has an area of 1470 square kilometers, of which nine square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Holmes County, Tuscarawas County, Guernsey County, Muskingum County, Licking County and Knox County.

History

Coshocton County was formed on January 31, 1810 from parts of Muskingum County Tuscarawas County and the. It was named after a term of the Delaware Indians, which means as much as union of the water.
