Coshocton ( kəʃɔktən ) is a city and the county seat of Coshocton County, Ohio, United States. The city's population was 11,682 at the 2000 census. The Walhonding River and the Tuscarawas River meet in Coshocton to coalesce in the Muskingum River. The name means "union of the waters" in the language of the Delaware Indians.

History

Coshocton (then under the name Tuscarawa ) was before the settlement by the whites, the capital of the Indian tribe of the Lenni Lenape, which are also called Delaware.
