Mathias Grönberg

Mathias Grönberg ( born March 12, 1970 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish professional golfer of the North American PGA TOUR.

Career

He won the 1988 Swedish Junior Championships and 1990 British Youths Championship, as well as Sweden, the Eisenhower Trophy, which Grönberg won the individual competition of this prestigious amateur petition for themselves. At the end of this year he became a professional golfer.

Grönberg started on the second lined up Challenge Tour and was thereafter from 1993 to 2003 a member of the first class European Tour. He recorded four tournament successes and 1998 had its best ranking in the European Tour Order of Merit rank 10th in that year 1998 Grönberg astounded the professional world when he at the Smurfit European Open at the famous K Club ( venue for the 2006 Ryder Cup ) is a world-class field outclassed by a margin of ten beats.

In between, he kept trying to qualify for the North American PGA TOUR, which came about after six fruitless efforts by winning the Q- School in 2003. The 2006 season was appealing and with a fourth place finish at the Shell Houston Open, he was able to record a top result. 2007 succeeded Grönberg his best result to date on the PGA Tour with a tie for third place at the Valero Texas Open. On September 2, 2012, he succeeded in Crans -Montana, a hole-in -one.

Mathias Grönberg is married to his wife Tara since 1999 and has one daughter. For tax reasons, he has a residence in Monaco, but lives with his family mainly in New Jersey and Florida.
