Mathilde Fibiger

Mathilde Lucie Fibiger ( born December 13, 1830 in Copenhagen, † June 17, 1872 in Aarhus ) was a Danish home teacher, women's rights activist and writer.

She worked as a private tutor on Lolland. Under the pseudonym " Clara Raphael " she published in 1851, the letter novella " Tolv breve " (Eng.: Twelve letters ), in which they advocated full equality for women. The font was published by Johan Heiberg and attracted much attention in Denmark. Also Fibigers numerous later works were devoted to the theme of equality. Her older sister Ilia Fibiger took the same principles, but did not appear in journalistic phenomenon.

Mathilde Fibiger is also referred to as the " founder of the Danish women's movement ", an honor that they must, however, be shared with other candidates.
