Matt Holland

Matthew Rhys " Matt" Holland ( born April 11, 1974 in Bury ) is a former Irish football player.

Career

The central midfielder began his career in the youth of West Ham United before he was brought into the first team in 1992. From 1995 to 1997 Holland played at AFC Bournemouth. In 1997 he moved to Ipswich Town. From 2003 to 2009 he was at Charlton Athletic under contract. After his contract was not renewed at Charlton, he trained at Colchester United, although they were not interested in a commitment, which is why Holland has since been without a club. Holland was in 2005 because of the misconduct of the national team at the World Cup qualifiers for Germany 2006 announced his resignation from the Irish National Team.

Holland played 49 times in the Irish national football team.
