Matt Luzunaris

Matthew " Matt" Luzunaris ( born March 6, 1989 in Margate, Florida) is an American football player at the position of center forward. He currently plays for Rochester Rhinos in the third- highest division in the North American Soccer, the USL Professional Division ( USL Pro).

Career

Youth and College

Luzunaris began his active career as a football player in the football team at West Boca Raton High School. By the way was in the football youth teams Boca Raton Juniors SC, Schulz Academy, St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri active. He was also part of the Olympic Development Program. Before he moved to the University of Central Florida, he had a trial with English football club Newcastle United.

Europe

In January 2008, signed Luzunaris, a year after his college debut, a contract with the Austrian second division side SC Swan City. His debut in professional football, he celebrated on 14 March 2008 in a 1-0 away victory against the amateurs of FK Austria Wien, as he came on in the 79 minutes for Andreas Bammer. For the Swan townspeople he came to a total of nine appearances until his departure in July 2008.

After the takeover of the club by the Magna Group and the renaming of the club in FC Magna Wiener Neustadt he came on August 22, to a short stint in the team. Later two brief appearances followed in OFB Cup. After his only game for the Wiener Neustadt he was awarded in August 2008 for SV Wiener mountain in the East Regional, where he came the day after the change, a field that also scored his first goal. Until his return to FC Magna in December 2008 Luzunaris completed ten games for the club, scoring five goals. During the winter break of the season 2008/ 09 he was in the official squad of Wiener Neustadt again, but was awarded in January 2009 to Brazil for Botafogo FR, currently, located in the highest Brazilian league, the Series A.

In July 2009 Luzunaris returned to Austria. That same month, he signed a three -year contract with SK Rapid Wien. For now, it will be used exclusively for the amateurs of Rapid in the third-tier Regionalliga Ost.

The change would be about one and a half years vonstattengegangen before when Luzunaris was tested on the training camp of Rapid in Belek and coach Peter Pacult and sporting director Alfred Hörtnagl agreed to submit to the Americans a contract. A few hours before the transfer deadline, the transfer fee was suddenly pushed up, so that the exchange failed in the federal capital.

Return to the U.S.

On 25 March 2011 Luzunaris was obliged by the San Jose Earthquakes. In the Major League Soccer franchise, he made his debut on April 9, 2012. Three months later he was loaned to Orlando City SC. After the 2011 season, moved to Orlando, where he scored in the 2012 season 9 Goals in 18 matches.

Since the 2013 season, he is active for the Rochester Rhinos.
