Matthew Thomas " Matt" Ryan ( born May 17, 1985 in Exton, Pennsylvania) is an American professional American football player at the position of quarterback. He plays in the National Football League ( NFL) for the Atlanta Falcons.

High School

Ryan attended the William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia and was there three years starter of the football team. He also played baseball and basketball and was in his senior year in all three teams captain.

College

College Football played Ryan in the years 2004-2007 at Boston College. In his first two years he was only sporadically used, but then performed well and was allowed to accumulate in the Bowl game as a starter. In his junior year, 2006, he was appointed starting quarterback and launched in eleven of twelve encounters. He led the Eagles to a 9-3 record and a 25:24 - Bowl victory against the Navy Midshipmen. Even in his last year of college led the Eagles to a Ryan Bowl victory. By 24:21, the Eagles could beat the Spartans of Michigan State University. For his achievements, he received the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, was invited to the Senior Bowl and also won the Manning Award.

NFL

Ryan was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2008 NFL Draft in the first round as the third player. On May 20, he signed a six-year contract worth a total of 72 million U.S. dollars.

He was determined to the starter from the coaches immediately and scored with his first pass in the NFL equal a touchdown. In October he was elected Rookie of the Month ( newcomer of the month) and at the end of the season even for offensive Rookie of the Year ( Best Offense newcomer of the year).

He finished the season with 3,440 yards in the passing game and 17 touchdowns (one by its own drive ) with only eleven interceptions.

Ryan has three siblings, his uncle was also quarterback at Boston College.
