Matteo II. Visconti

Matteo II Visconti († September 29, 1355 ) from the Visconti family was the third son of Stefano Visconti. In the division of the dominions of the family after the death of Cardinal Giovanni Visconti in 1354 he got Bologna, Lodi, Piacenza and Parma. Since he is the " immorality " devoted himself, he was murdered by his brothers Bernabo Visconti Galeazzo II Visconti and after one year, which subsequently ruled its share in common.

Matteo was married to Gigliola Gonzaga, daughter of the Filipinos Gonzaga; their daughter Caterina Visconti († October 10, 1382 ) was married in 1358 by her uncles with Ugolino Gonzaga, who was also assassinated after only four years.
