Matthew Elias

Matthew " Matt" Elias ( born April 25, 1979 in Cardiff ) is a British sprinter and hurdler.

At the 1998 Commonwealth Games he was part of the Welsh team that won bronze in the 4 x 400 - meter relay.

Four years later he won at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester silver in both the 400 - meter hurdles as well as with the Welsh relay in the 4 x 400 - meter relay. At the European Athletics Championships in Munich, he retired over 400 m hurdles in the flow and won with the British team gold in the 4 x 400 - meter relay.

In the 2004 Olympics he was again the British team in the 4 x 400 - meter relay and came up with this to fifth place.

At the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, he reached the semifinals in the 400m hurdles.

Matthew Elias is 1.84 meters tall and weighs 70 kg. He starts for the Cardiff ACC.
