Matthew Hayden

Matthew Lawrence Hayden (nicknamed " Haydos " ) ( born October 29, 1971 in Kingaroy, Queensland ) is a former Australian cricket national team and former first batsman in the Australian national team. He was known that he could score points quickly both in Test cricket and in One Day Cricket.

His debut in a One Day International match for the Australian national team gave Hayden on 19 May 1993 against England in Manchester. By April 1994, he was regularly used in ODI matches. His debut in a test he gave in March 1994 against South Africa in Johannesburg. By 2000, however, he was used sporadically in tests since he retired as a hitter often early. It was not until 2000 he succeeded in a One- Day International match against New Zealand the breakthrough. After 2001 an average of 109.80 points scored in a tournament against India, the cricket legend Donald Bradman recalled, he was an integral part of the team. In October 2003 he reached against Zimbabwe with 380 runs, the highest at this time achieved in a certain number of innings runs. The record was broken in 2004 by Brian Lara with 400 runs. In February 2007, Hayden scored in one-day cricket against New Zealand 181 runs not out. He holds the Australian record for the highest number of runs scored in the innings, both in test and in one-day cricket.

With Justin Langer together Hayden was the second most successful team start batsmen of all time.
