Matthew Morrison

Matthew James Morrison ( born October 30, 1978 in Fort Ord, California) is an American musical performer and actor. He is best known for his role as Will Schuester in the American television series Glee.

Life

Matthew Morrison was born in the former military base Fort Ord the United States Army near the city of Monterey in California. After graduating high school he studied Musical at New York University and the Conservatory of the Collaborative Arts Project 21 in New York. In 2002, he created the role of Link Larkin in the premiere of the musical Hairspray on Broadway. He was nominated for the role of Fabrizio Nacarelli in the Broadway production of the musical The Light in the Piazza for a Tony Award in 2005.

After a few film roles and guest appearances in several television series Morrison plays the role of Spanish teacher Will Schuester in the Fox series Glee since 2009. For the part he was awarded the 2009 Satellite Award. The eighth episode of the third season of the series was Morrison in 2011 his directorial debut.

In summer 2011, Morrison released his first solo album.
