Matthias Zimmermann Ling ( born September 6, 1967 in Leipzig ) is a former German football player. He has played in the DDR - Oberliga and the 2nd Bundesliga. For the East German Football Association, he played 20 junior internationals.

Football career

Youth players

Room compact football career began in 1979 in the children's team of the 1st FC Locomotive Leipzig. In 1983, he played for the first FC Lok in the junior league, two years later he was admitted to the squad of the GDR national junior team. With it, he denied on September 25, 1985 the first of his 16 junior internationals. It was in the encounter DDR - Netherlands (1:3 ) was used as a left attacker. At the Junior World Cup 1987 in Chile, he played in all six games. In the match for third place, that the GDR won on penalties 3-1 in front of 70,000 spectators against the hosts, room Ling was one of the successful penalty takers. In 1988, he completed four more matches with the U-21 youth team. At that time he had already completed his training as a maintenance mechanic.

In the GDR Oberliga

For the season 1986/87 1.FC Lok rooms Ling reported for the DDR - Oberliga. There, however, he came into this season not used, instead he first played with the second team in the third-class district league. At the beginning of the season, he became the local rivals BSG Chemie Leipzig ausdelegiert, where he played 14 league games for the rest of the season in the second-rate DDR -Liga. Also in the season 1987/88 of 1.84 m wide rooms Ling initially belonged to the GDR - League line-up of BSG Chemie. After he had played the next eight league games for the chemist and with five goals had a good hit, the first FC Lok Leipzig brought him back in November 1987. In the DFB - play operation

From 1991 to October 1994 Room Ling was active when 1 FC Union Berlin. For the Berlin he first played by the summer of 1994 in the third-tier Oberliga afternoon. Of the 100 discharged point games room Ling graduated 74 encounters in which he developed with 34 goals to one of the most successful invaders of Unioner. As a master of the mid- season 1 FC Union for the newly established Regional Northeast qualified in 1994. There Zimmerling denied but only two league games before he joined the league rivals Energie Cottbus in November 1994. Also in Cottbus, he was a more accurate shooter. By the end of the season 1994/95 he scored 14 goals in 13 games. 1995/96 room Ling was a player of the second division side FC Carl Zeiss Jena, for whom he played 15 league games with three Torerfolgen. Then he returned to Energie Cottbus, where he in 1996/97 one more season denied. He helped the Lusatians 26 point game inserts and two relegation matches and scored six goals for promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga and was with the team on June 14, 1997 as a substitute for 25 minutes in the DFB Cup final that the Cottbus 0-2 against VfB Stuttgart lost. There, he went on again at the 1 FC Union (1997), the Austrian third division Klagenfurt Austria (1998-1999 ), again Sachsen Leipzig (1999 /2000) and the third division VfL Halle 1896 ( 2000/ 01).

End of career in Austria

For the season 2001/ 02 rooms Ling returned to Klagenfurt. There he continued his short-term bills. After a year in Austria, he joined for the season 2002 /03 to the third division SAK. It was taken in 2003 /04 the ASV in the fourth division Kärntner Liga and most recently in 2004 /05 the fifth rate Klagenfurt AC. 2005/ 06 rooms Ling ended 38 - year his career as a football player at Klagenfurt subclass club ASKOE Wölfnitz.

In spring 2009 room Ling was given a two-year contract as coach of FSV Zwickau Oberliga, but he was released again in October. In September 2010, he took over the Allgäu district division club FC Kempten as coach.
