Mattie Montgomery

Mattie Montgomery (born 20 century in Sioux City, Iowa) is an American metalcore singer - He is active in the Christian metalcore band For Today and has sung with this band four albums. He has also published three spoken-word albums with evangelical themes.

Life

Mattie Montgomery grew up as the son up in a Christian household. His mother, a choir singer, his singing brought them closer. First, a devoted football player, he began to hear with 14/15 years, Nu Metal, especially grain and Limp Bizkit, before he began to discover for themselves harder Christian music and found Jesus.

Mattie Montgomery began his musical career with the band Earth vs.. Spider. It was followed by the Christian Melodic Death Metal band Besieged, which recorded the album Atlantis ( 2007). He then moved in 2007 to the metalcore band For Today and there replaced original vocalist Matt Tyler. He sings so on all the band's albums, except the first, even financial Bankrupts EP.

Was released in 2010 Montgomery's first spoken word album titled When The Sons Become Fathers. 2011 was followed by The Keys to Open Ancient Gates, to which he also published a book of the same. 2013 was followed by the Storm Lake.

Controversy

When Mike Reynolds was fired for homophobic statements in 2013 For Today, Mattie Montgomery tried to mediate. He commented several times on homosexuality, with many of his statements were ambiguous to understand. So he took Reynolds statement " Homosexuality is a sin " (homosexuality is a sin ) is not back, but argued for a same-sex marriage. Yet he verbally draws a line between homosexuality and Christianity. His statement entitled Homosexulity and the Rebellious Church but also contained homophobic passages and, after a metal side has taken up the post and reproduced in full length, removed from its web site and reduced by the controversial passages, republished.
