Maureen Gardner

Maureen Angela Jane Gardner ( born November 12, 1928 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, † September 2, 1974 in North Stoneham, Hampshire) was a British track and field athlete and Olympic medal winner.

In the XIV Olympic Summer Games 1948 in London, she won the silver medal in the 80 - meter hurdles behind the Dutch Fanny blanker - Koen ( gold ) and before the Australian Shirley Strickland (bronze). The achieved from both time was recorded at 11.4 seconds. Besides her career in track and she also gave some ballet classes. She married Geoff Dyson, chief coach of the British team.
