Maurice Genevoix

Maurice Genevoix ( born November 29, 1890 in Decize ( Nièvre), † September 8, 1980 in Alicante, Spain) was a French writer.

Life

After his schooling at the Gymnasium Pothier in Orléans, he was given access to study at the École Normale Supérieure, the French elite high school for teachers in secondary school and university level. At the beginning of World War Maurice Genevoix was drafted and seriously wounded in Éparges (Meuse ) on 25 April 1915.
