Maurice Roy

Cardinal Maurice Roy, CC, OBE ( born January 25, 1905 in Quebec City, Canada, † October 24, 1985 ibid ) was Archbishop of Quebec.

Life

Maurice Roy studied in Quebec City, Paris and Rome, the subjects Catholic theology and philosophy. He received on 12 June 1927, the sacrament of Holy Orders by the Bishop of Nicolet, Quebec City, Joseph -Simon- Herman Brunault, and worked after the completion of ongoing studies from 1930 as a lecturer at the Department of Laval. During the Second World War he was the senior chaplain from the military chaplains for the Canadian soldiers.

Pope Pius XII. appointed him on 22 February 1946 Bishop of Trois Rivières.
