Jean -Marie- Rodrigue Villeneuve Cardinal OMI ( born November 2, 1883 in Montreal, Canada, † January 17, 1947 in Alhambra, USA) was Archbishop of Quebec.

Life

Jean -Marie- Rodrigue Villeneuve joined in 1901 the Congregation of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate at. He studied in various houses of the Order and the University of Ottawa the subjects Catholic theology and philosophy and received on 25 May 1907, the sacrament of Holy Orders. He has a Ph.D. in philosophy, theology and canon law at the University of Ottawa. From 1907 to 1913 he was professor of philosophy and to 1930 professor of liturgy and spirituality and church history at the University of Ottawa as well as Dean of the Faculty of Theology and the Faculty of Canon Law. From 1920 to 1930 he took the lead tasks within his community.

1930 Pope Pius XI appointed him. Bishop of Gravelbourg. He died on January 17, 1947 in Alhambra, California, and was buried in the Notre -Dame de Québec Cathedral.
