Max Bemis

Max Bemis ( born April 6, 1984 in New York City ) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and composer. He achieved fame as a singer and main composer of American band Say Anything.

Biographical information

Bemis was born in New York City, but moved even at a young age with his family to Los Angeles, California. His father worked as a producer in Hollywood. Through him Bemis got some minor roles. He was seen as a baby on the movie poster for Raising Arizona or as an extra in Face / Off. His musical interests strengthened after he learned to play keyboards. Bemis itself, as well as other members of Say Anything, of Jewish descent. In his texts, therefore, seem always to religious themes. After a nervous breakdown, 2005, Bipolar disorder was found in him, with which he evades musical.

Musical career

After Max has the later Say Anything drummer Coby Linder met in a camp Ramah, a Jewish summer camp in Ojai, California, and he also with the other Say -Anything - members Evan Span and Michael Levin, with whom he at the Windward School went to Los Angeles, California and also are of Jewish origin, was known, he founded with them the band Say Anything. The level of awareness of the band in the Los Angeles grew and the band produced their first album, Baseball, after some changes in the line -up were performed. The band broke up, however, as Bemis went to college in New York. However, he was dissatisfied with his student life and Say Anything decided to start again. Coby Linder (drums) and Dan DeLauro ( bass) were involved in addition to Bemis EP Menorah \ Majora 2003. The following year, she signed a recording contract with Doghouse Records, in which she published in 2004 ... Is A Real Boy.
