Max Dudler

Max Dudler ( born November 18, 1949 in Altenrhein, Switzerland ) is a Swiss architect of international stature. The architecture of Max Dudler is characterized by rationalism of contemporary architecture, interspersed by a Swiss minimalism.

Life

Max Dudler studied in the 1970s at the Städel School in Frankfurt, including as a student of Günter Bock. He graduated in 1979 at the University of Arts in Berlin with Ludwig Leo.

In 1981 he was employed by OM Ungers, with whom he was responsible, among other things, the exhibition hall 9 and Galleria of Messe Frankfurt am Main. In 1986, he set out with Karl Dudler and Pete Welbergen own, without a partner since 1992 with offices in Berlin, Frankfurt and Zurich.

Dudler has repeatedly accepted visiting professorships, for example, at the Faculty of Architecture of the University ( IUAV ) Venice 1989 /1990. He was a lecturer at the Summer Schools of Architecture in Herne (1989 ), in Mantova ( 1990), Naples (1993 to 1995) and in Vienna (1996). 1996 to 1999 he held a temporary professorship at the University of Dortmund. Since 2004 he teaches along with Axel Schultes and Laurids Ortner, at the Dusseldorf Art Academy.
