Max Neumeister

Max Neumeister ( born May 15, 1849 in Kleindrebnitz; † December 1, 1929 in Dresden ) was a German forester and director of the Saxon Academy of Forestry.

Life

Neumeister spent the childhood in Vorwerk Kleindrebnitz and attended secondary school Annaberg. From 1867 to 1869 he studied forestry in Tharandt Johann Friedrich Judeich and Max Preßler.

From 1880 to 1906 he taught at the Academy of Forestry Tharandt. In 1887 he received a doctorate in phil. From 1894 to 1904 he was director of the Royal Saxon Academy of Forestry in Tharandt and from 1906 to 1919, he managed the forest district of Dresden as a head forester.

Neumeister earned special merits in the development of the teaching content and the teaching methods of forestry.

1885 Neumeister Corp. loop carrier Saxonia Tharandt. In 1895 he was appointed member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. In 1902 he was appointed to the Privy Oberforstrat.

He was buried in the interior of the New Town Cemetery in Dresden.

The Neumeisterweg in Tharandter Forest ( district Somsdorf ) in Badetal the city Tharandt is named after him. A memorial stone there be imputed to Him is detectable only on pictures from the 19th century in this way.
