Johann Friedrich Judeich

Johann Friedrich Judeich ( born January 27, 1828 in Dresden, † March 28, 1894 in Tharandt ) was a German forest scientists.

Johann Friedrich Judeich studied from 1846 to 1848 Forestry Science at the Academy of Forestry in Tharandt and economics in Leipzig. In 1849 he was a laborer at the Royal Saxon Forest Management Institute, joined in 1857 as a manager of a large Waldbesitzung in Bohemia Giant Mountains in the service of the Earl of Moczin, in 1862 the Bohemian Forest School Association at the head of the newly established School of Forestry in white water ( Bohemia) called from there but appointed in 1866 as Director of the Forestry Academy Tharandt, 1876 and 1878 forester appointed to the Privy Privy Oberforstrat.

Among his writings is emphasized: The forest management (Dresden 1871, 4th edition 1885). In the official report on the Vienna World Exhibition, he reported on forestry ( Braunschweig 1874). From 1868, he led the editors of the Tharandter forest Yearbook (Dresden) and from 1873 to 1882 he was the German forestry and hunting calendar (Berlin) out. In Tharandt a monument with a bronze bust of Johannes Schilling was built in 1899 on Neumeisterweg ( district Somsdorf ) and 2011 restored and converted into the Forest Botanical Garden. The grave stones of the family tomb of Judeich was moved in 1940 from Tharandter cemetery in the Tharandter forest, across from Cotta's grave, the place of the former place of Wettin. In addition, built in 1998 on sports field laboratory and lecture hall building of the Department of Forest Sciences got the name Friedrich Judeich construction. In the Radeberger suburb of Dresden, a road is also named after Judeich.
