Criticism

  • Reclam's movie guide: " Louis Malle has created a warm and worldly-wise comedy in which images and moods are as important as arguments, in which the unspoken is often best to understand. With gentle irony, he observed the civil survivors, who suffer through the few messages in a repeatedly failing radio a rollercoaster of emotions. "
  • Encyclopedia of the International film: "A cheerful, melancholy comedy of manners that captures nuances and with a fine sense moods and sensations. Between gentle melancholy and subtle serenity mourns Louis Malle both to the downfall of an upper middle class lifestyle as well as to the pre-programmed failure of the utopia of rebellious youth. "
  • Prism online: " Louis Malle created a cheerful and melancholic social comedy about the failure of a revolt that moved an entire country and in disorder for a few hours and the daily life of an upper class family. Malle shows an ironic image of the French bourgeoisie with a plethora of good and funny ideas ( wonderful: the attempt by the company, free love to practice ), but also a little melancholy because of the rebellious time the late 60s has remained little. A compelling, often subtle, sometimes crudely sarcastic comedy with brilliant performers. "
