The list of the mayor of Moscow gives an overview of all the city leaders of the Russian capital Moscow since 1709.

From 1709 to 1917 ruled Governors Moscow. Between 1917 and 1991 led chairman of the Executive Committee of the City Council. On June 12, 1991 Gavriil Popov was elected in the first free elections for the first mayor of the city. Following the resignation Popov in June 1992 by Russian President Boris Yeltsin announced the appointment of Yuri Luzhkov as the new mayor. On 16 June 1996 he was confirmed with 89.6 percent of the vote in the office and re-elected with 71 percent in 1999. In 2003 he was elected with 74.8 percent of the vote for the third time to the Moscow mayor. The deputies of the Duma in 2007 confirmed him again in office.

In September 2010, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on the dismissal of Luzhkov as mayor of Moscow, was named as the basic loss of confidence. This was preceded by a media campaign by the Kremlin-controlled television stations. This Luzhkov was accused of corruption and abuse of office. On 28 September 2010 Vladimir Iosifovich Ressin took office as acting. On 15 October 2010, Medvedev struck from a list of four candidates Sergei Semenovich Sobyanin as the new mayor before to replace the sacked Yuri Luzhkov. On 21 October 2010 Sobyanin was elected by the Moscow city parliament with 32 to 2 votes for new mayor.
