Mediumwave transmitter Lopik

The medium-wave transmitter Lopik is one of the oldest broadcasting facilities for medium wave broadcasting in the Netherlands. He shines his light at night -air throughout Europe program at the frequency of 675 kHz with a power of 120 kW over a 196 m high, insulated against ground radiating transmitting mast, which is located in the immediate vicinity of Gerbrandyturms. But the latter never served as a medium-wave transmitter.

Until April 21, 2004 existed in the immediate vicinity, a second, insulated against ground steel truss mast for the transmission of a radio program on the frequency 1332 kHz. This transmitter was moved because of a neighboring residential area in 2003.
