Mehdi Mohaghegh

Mehdi Mohaghegh (Persian مهدی محقق; born 1929 or 1930 in Mashhad ) is an Iranian scholar who specializes in Persian literature, Islamic studies and philosophy. He studied in Tehran and later received the Certificate of Higher Studies in Theology ( Ijtihad ) in Qom. A PhD, he acquired both in ilāhiyyāt ( theology ) as well as in Persian literature at Tehran University, where he began to teach in 1960. He also taught at various universities abroad.

He is a member of the Egyptian and Syrian Academy of Arabic language. He is one of the Senior Fellows of the Royal Aal al - Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought ( Royal Aal al - Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought ), Jordan.
