Christian elms in different roles
My new friend is a made- for ProSieben reality series from the year 2005. Protagonist is Christian elms, who plays different characters to spend with any candidate a weekend. The series is an adaptation of the British series My New Best Friend.
Concept
A candidate must be a full weekend to spend with an unfamiliar person who is an unpleasant for him, pesky character whose identity and characteristics, however, are not known beforehand. The candidate has to endure what this person does or demands and introduce him to friends and parents as a new friend everything. The candidate and his " new friend " are the only occurring individuals who know that everything will be filmed and the relationship is faked during the weekend. If the candidate survives the constant provocations, there is a gain in the amount of 10,000 euros. The person of the " new friend " presented in this case, the money under false pretenses and leaves the room. The candidate, however, at any time has the option to cancel the game prematurely. However, in this case, the game is lost and there is no profit. Christian elm plays accordingly disguised (and therefore unrecognized by the candidate ) in each case these " new friend ".

Because the first episode of the series did not reach the desired ProSieben market shares, the station took the format temporarily from the program. Due to massive protests in a petition initiated by Fans Internet ProSieben took the series short again and showed her the time slot on Thursdays from 23:15 clock by TV total to where it is then up to 20 % market share in the 14 - to 29 - Years went. Although now much better market share than with the airing of the first episode of the odds but still fell short of the transmitter section.
The entire season of My new friend was repeated from 1 November 2005 for MTV. A further repetition was early 2008 when Comedy Central. In a final Special Christian elm commented on the individual characters and candidates.
All episodes broadcast on television are available free of charge in full on MySpass.de. In addition, a DVD was released, at which there is an additional, not in TV broadcast episode.
Award
The series was in 2005 for the German Television Award in the category " Best Comedy " nomination. The price, however, won the improv show Schiller Street.
Ulmen.tv
The roles of Alexander von Eich, Knut Hansen, Uwe Wöllner and since 11 December, corner of Maurice Horstmann called here, were taken ulmen.tv in the follow format. In ulmen.tv there are no more candidates to spend a weekend with one of the characters. Unlike My new friend the videos of ulmen.tv were shown only on the internet since end of August 2008 and were first seen in 3min.de. Since October 2012, all episodes can be seen on ulmen.tv.
Only later ( as of 19 October 2008) and MTV broadcast a selected consequences of ulmen.tv followed on television at the stations Comedy Central ( from 23 October 2008). Since October 11, 2012 first 20 episodes run on Tele 5
My New Best Friend
The English original was broadcast on Channel 4 in 2003. Starred in the six episodes was the comedian Marc Wootton. Four of his characters were copied in the German version ( Stevie - Veith, Simon - Marcel; Gary - Jürgen; Sasha - Alexander von Eich). My New Best Friend won the 2004 Rose d'Or in category "Game Show."
