Meixian District

Meixian (梅县 区; Pinyin: Meixian Qū ) is a municipality of the prefecture-level city of Meizhou in Guangdong Province, China. It has an area of 2755 km ² and has about 610,000 inhabitants. The municipality was on October 18, 2013 out of the Mei County (梅县), which was dissolved on that date.

The birthplace of Marshal Ye Jianying (Ye Jianying guju ) since 2001 has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 5-503 ).
