Melaleuca armillaris is an indigenous Australian plant from the myrtle family ( Myrtaceae ).

Features

Melaleuca armillaris is a shrub, reaching heights of growth of up to 5 m. The bark is hard and corky. The leaves are alternate, are linear, 12-25 mm long and about 1 mm wide. The tip is bent back, pointed, glabrous. The petiole is 1-2 mm long.

The inflorescences are Vielblütige, dense spikes of 3-7 cm length. You are deep in the branches. The inflorescence axis is bare except woolly. The flowers appear singly in the axils of bracts. They are white, rarely pink. The petals are oval and 2-3 mm long.

The fruit is short cylindrical and has a diameter of 3-5 mm. The opening is 2-4 mm. The sepals remain attached to the fruit.

Dissemination and locations

Melaleuca armillaris is native to Australia and is found in the states of New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. It is distributed in Heide companies, often found near the coast.
