Melody (Japanese singer)
Melody. ( Born February 24, 1982 in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States) is a Japanese-American J- pop singer and presenter.
Biography
Melody is Japanese - American descent and grew up in Hawaii, where she attended private school Punahou School. At the age of 19 she moved to Japan to work on her music career. She became well known through the use of their songs in commercials and TV series. Her breakthrough came in 2003 with a television commercial for the Japanese car manufacturer Mitsubishi Motors, in which she sang the song Over the Rainbow, which is also represented on their second single. In the same year she was able to use the Japanese hip- hop group M -Flo in which she worked as a second singer, as an additional springboard for their careers. Due to the media interest about her person she was able to sell over 70,000 copies of her third single miss you.
From April 2007 to September 2008, she hosted the Japanese music show J- Melo, which is broadcast on the international channel NHK World. In October 2008, May Hashimoto and Shanti Snyder took over the moderation of the show.
In March 2009, rumors have been confirmed, according to which it is married to the Japanese singer Miyavi and expecting a child. The wedding took place on 14 March and was officially confirmed on April 5 from Miyavi. The couple have two daughters.
