Mendsaikhany Enkhsaikhan

Mendsaichaniin Enchsaichan (Mongolian Мэндсаиханийн Энхсаихан; * 1955 in Ulaanbaatar ) was the Prime Minister of Mongolia from July 1996 to April 1998.

Life

Early years

Enchsaichan was born in 1955 in Ulan Bator and is fluent in Russian and English. He studied International Economics at the State University of Kiev and graduated with a Doctorate in Economics from. From 1978 to 1988 he worked as an economist and deputy head of department in the Foreign Trade Ministry. Subsequently, he was until 1990 Director of Market Research Institutes.

From 1990 to 1992 he held for the Republican Party for the first time a seat in Parliament. He was Chairman of the Academy for Political Education in 1992. Prime minister
