Menswear (band)

Menswe @ r were a short-lived Britpop band, which was the mid-1990s and was active from Camden. Menswe @ r signed their first record deal after their fifth gig and appeared on the cover of Melody Maker before they had received a single tone. Your clothing style leaned on to the Mod, but their music was inspired by Blur and Elastica.

They generated so much media attention that they occurred in the British edition of Top of the Pops before their first single was released. This made them the first band, which was invited to the show to have published without a plate. The first single I'll Manage Somehow was only a minor success, and the second single Daydreamer only finished 14 of the singles charts in the UK.

On one hand, they were criticized by the British music press, because their success based solely on good looks and not on musical talent. On the other hand, this helped Menswe @ r to attract the readers of New Musical Express and Smash Hits. Published in 1995 Menswe @ r their debut album Nuisance and played at the Glastonbury Festival. At the end of the year they released their single Stardust. As the popularity of Britpop went back, it was also quieter around Menswe @ r. In 1998, she released her second album Hay Tiempo! , Which was only available in Japan.
