Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

The SL-Class refers to the vehicles from Mercedes- Benz, mostly Roadster, formerly sports car bearing the letters "SL" in the model name.

The term SL-Class was not coined until the mid-1990s as a result of the newly introduced concept of E-Class and derived from this. Previously, vehicles of this class were often simply called "SL " model. The meaning of the abbreviation "SL " is unclear: it is either " Sport Light ", or for " super light ". Daimler AG uses both explanations ( cf. Sport Leicht or super light? ).

Until the end of 2009 since the launch of the first SL Roadster 1957 over 650,000 sports cars to customers were handed world.
