Mercedes, Buenos Aires Province

Mercedes is a city in Argentina's Buenos Aires province and capital of Partido Mercedes.

The town was founded on June 25, 1752 and has 51 967 inhabitants ( 2001; 51.5 % female, 48.5 % male ). Mercedes is located 38 meters above the sea.

The city being the bishop of the Archdiocese of Mercedes- Luján.
