Meredith Brooks

Meredith Ann Brooks ( born June 12, 1958 in Oregon City, Oregon) is an American singer and songwriter.

Life and career

After visiting the Corvallis High School in Corvallis, she worked from 1974 in the music scene.

In the early 1980s she moved to Los Angeles. At that time, she took on the songs that were later released on her album See It Through My Eyes. In the late 1980s and early 1990s she was a member of The Graces, who published an album " A Perfect View" in 1989.

1995 Brooks was able to conclude a contract with the major label Capitol Records. Their first single " Bitch" a great success, reaching number two on the U.S. charts in 1997 and earned her a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Female rock singer. Their album Blurring the Edges achieved platinum and reached number 22 on the Billboard 200 in 1997 and 1998, she led her tours through Europe and the United States.

Brooks took in 1999 on their second album and released it under the title Deconstruction. It was very different from his predecessor Blurring the Edges. The album was a failure. The song Sin City, she wrote for the movie Snake Eyes her friend Brian De Palma.

In 2002, she earned her third album under the title Bad Bad One out when independent label Gold Circle Records. Shortly after the album's release the insolvent label but could not compete effectively album. Also, a tour was not possible for financial reasons.

Brooks produced in 2002, the album BareNaked by Jennifer Love Hewitt and entered in Divas Las Vegas program along with Céline Dion and Anastacia guitarist on.

2004 Brooks wrote a new contract with the SLG Records and released her album Shine. The title song was used by the TV psychologist Dr. Phil McGraw on his show.

In 2007, she published a children's songs album under the title If I could be ....
