Mergim Mavraj ( born June 9, 1986 in Hanau ) is a German - Albanian football player.

Career

Clubs

Mavraj played in youth for sports fans Blessed city, Kickers Offenbach and the SG Rosenhöhe Offenbach. In 2004 he moved to the youth of the SV Darmstadt 98 in his first season in the professional squad in the season 2005 /06 he was elected by the Darmstadt fans the most popular players. In 2007 he moved to VfL Bochum. On 10 May 2008, he completed his first Bundesliga game when he came on as a substitute in the match against Karlsruher SC.

In January 2011 Mavraj moved prematurely to SpVgg Greuther Fuerth after a change was originally intended for summer break.

Mavraj played by good performances in the same starting eleven of Fürth. After the Bundesliga promotion, he was elected from the team committee to the captain of the second division champion and led the SpVgg so by their first and only Bundesliga season. After the descent, the captaincy was passed to Wolfgang Hesl. But his place he could defend.

National

On 21 February 2007 Mergim Mavraj debuted in the German U - 21 national team, which posted a 0-0 draw in Reutlingen against the selection of Italy.

Since he owns the Albanian citizenship in addition to a German passport, he came on 22 May 2012 for the senior national team of Albania to use. His international debut he crowned with a 2-1 victory over the selection of Qatar.
