Mersad Selimbegović

Mersad Selimbegović ( born April 29, 1982 in Rogatica ) is a former Bosnian Herzegovinian footballer and current coach.

Career

Selimbegović played until the 2005/06 season in Bosnia - Herzegovina, where he arrived at the local record champions FK Željezničar Sarajevo, among other things are used. For the season 2006/ 07 he was taken by coach Günter Güttler to just descended into the Bavarian League SSV Jahn Regensburg. There the learned central defender immediately earned a starting berth alongside captain Dennis Grassow and contributed in 30 season inserts for immediate promotion back to the Regional at. In 2008 he qualified with the SSV Jahn for the newly created 3rd league.

The following years were then marked again and again by long -term injuries. In the first two years in German professional football, he played only half the season games in the season 2010/11 he had completed nine games as permanently put him among other muscular problems and back problems from November 2010 out of action. He turned neither in this nor in the entire next season back in the team. 2012 were Regensburg after successful relegation without its participation in the 2nd Bundesliga. By season's end, his contract ran out.

Since the 2012/13 season, he is assistant coach of the U23 SSV Jahn in the Bavarian League.
