Mesa Arizona Temple

The Mesa Arizona Temple is the seventh temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the first in Arizona. He stands in Mesa, a suburb of Phoenix. The temple is one of the few who do not wear angel Moroni and one of three who have no spire. The latter goes back to the model of the Temple of Solomon, as well as the Laie Hawaii Temple and the Cardston Alberta Temple.

In the second half of the nineteenth century, many Mormon settlers from Utah came to Arizona. In order to spare them the elaborate way to the temples in Utah, the construction of a temple in Arizona has been planned since 1908. After a delay of preparation by the First World War, the temple was inaugurated in 1927. Since 1945, offered in him as the first temple Endowmentzeremonien in Spanish. It was renovated in 1974-1975.

It has 10,583 square meters of floor space, four Endowment and nine sealing rooms.
