The parallel Cohesive herbs tensioner ( Mesotype parallelolineata ), formerly called Perizoma parallelolineata, rarely referred to as Braunstreifiger wavy - blade tensioner, Brown Striped blade tensioner or parallel Bindiger capsule tensioner, is a butterfly (moth ) from the family of the tensioner ( Geometridae ).

Features

Butterfly

The wingspan of the butterfly is 24 to 30 millimeters. The ground color of the forewings is whitish to cream- colored, sometimes slightly brownish dusted. Stepping on the fore wings out two narrow dark cross bands that are relatively straight path saumwärts applied yellow brown to reddish brown. The Saumfeld is occasionally obscured. Caterpillar

Adults caterpillars are gray green, have a fine, dark dorsal line and a bright side stripes. The head is light brown.

Doll

The doll has a yellow-brown color, dark points at the segment edges and a short cremaster who ever shows a very short, curved hook at the end of two divergent bristles as well as on the sides.

Geographical distribution and occurrence

The distribution of the parallel cohesive herbs tensioner extends from central Europe through Russia to the Urals and the Altai Mountains. It is missing in the UK and in the far north of Fennoscandia. In the Alps, he is still to be found at an altitude of 1900 meters. Main habitats of the species are moist forest meadows, mixed forests, plantations, parks and boggy terrain.

Way of life

The time of flight of moths covers the months of July to October. They are mostly nocturnal and sometimes suck on the flowers of the following plants:

They pupate in a cocoon in the soil. The species overwinters as an egg.
