Messier 43

Messier 43 (also known as NGC 1982 or De Mairans mist called ) is a gas nebula in the constellation Orion likes having a brightness of 9.00, which is a part of the Orion Nebula. The nebula has an angular extent of 20.0 '× 15.0' north of Messier 42 ( the Orion Nebula ).

The nebula was first documented in 1731 by Frenchman Jean Jacques d' Ortous de Mairan. Charles Messier then gave the fog at his distortion of the Orion Nebula own catalog number.

The emission nebula surrounding the variable star NU Orionis (HD 37061 ) and is stimulated by this glow. The gas cloud is like the rest of the Orion Nebula an HII region.
