NGC 1977

NGC 1977 refers to an H II region and the young star-forming region located in this open cluster. NGC 1977 lies in the constellation of Orion, just to the north of the Orion Nebula, and is part of the Orion A molecular cloud at a distance of about 500 parsecs.
