The Mettau ( Czech Metuje ) is a left tributary of the Elbe river in the Czech Republic.

The Mettau rises in the forest area northeast of the village Hottendorf ( Hodkovice ) south of the inner Adršpašské Rocks. Above this it is accumulated in the Adršpaš lake to then flow down over a waterfall in the area of ​​the inner rock city. There she has cut a narrow gorge in the up to 80 m high cliff.
