Metula

Metulla (Hebrew מטולה ) is the most preferred in the northern town of Israel. It is located about ten kilometers north of Kiryat Shmona on the border with Lebanon. East of Metulla the Iyyon, tributary flows to the Hasbani; not too far away is the Mount Hermon.

The town was founded in 1896 by Baron Edmond de Rothschild, after the Lebanese Christian Jabur Bek Junbalat had sold the land. The purpose of establishing settlements was to create there from Eastern Europe Jews expelled a new home. The economic base of the village formed fruit, wine, grain and livestock. Today the economy of the town is based on fruit growing and tourism.

Metulla is known for its Canada - Centre, an international center for ice sports. Metulla is both in summer and in winter a popular holiday destination in place, there are a variety of accommodations and restaurants.
