Mezihoří (Klatovy District)

Mezihoří ( German Meshorsch ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eleven kilometers north of Klatovy and belongs to Okres Klatovy.

Geography

Mezihoří located in Schwihauer Bergland ( Svihovska Highlands ) between the mountains Tuhošť (601 m) and Běleč (712 m) at the creek Mezihořský.

Neighboring towns are Lhovice in the north, Červené Poříčí and Vodotečský Dvůr in the northeast, Švihov in the east, in the southeast Kokšín, Trštejn, Malechov and Výrov in the south, and Chlumská Trnci the southwest, Ježovy in the west and Biřkov in the northwest.

History

On the Tuhošť probably has an old fort found at whose feet the town grew. Mezhorzy was first documented in the year 1548. 1563 acquired Humprecht Černín of Chudenitz Švihov on the location of Heralt Kavka. To 1601 there was a division of the village. In 1662, was Anna Magdalena Čermínová Haras owner of the whole place.

By repealing Patrimonialherrschaftem in 1848 Mezihoří remained with the rule Švihov and then became a part of the community Lhovice. From 1880 Mezihoří formed its own municipality in the district Klattau. Between 1950 and 1960 there was a reclassification in the Okres Prestice. This was resolved in the course of municipal reform of 1960 and at the same time lost Mezihoří his independence. Until 1 January 1992 Mezihoří was incorporated to Švihov and was then independent again.
