Michael Chow (restaurateur)

Michael Chow (Chinese周英华/周英华, Pinyin Zhou Yinghua; born February 6, 1939 in Shanghai, China) is a Chinese actor and internationally renowned restaurateur.

Biography

Chow's father Zhou Xinfang in his day was China's most famous actor ever. Together with his older sister Tsai Chin in 1952, he emigrated to England and studied architecture in London. Until the opening of a renowned restaurant he worked as a dishwasher and waiter but also as a painter, sculptor and actor. He has two children with the late 1992 model Tina Chow. His daughter China Chow is also an actress and was a model for, among others, Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein.

Career

Before Chow opened his well-known restaurant, he ran nightclubs and a trendy hair salon, which he called " Twiggy ". In 1968 he founded his first "Mr. Chow "restaurant in London.
