Michael Francis Burbidge

Michael Francis Burbidge ( born June 16, 1957 in Philadelphia, United States) is Bishop of Raleigh.

Life

Michael Francis Burbidge received on 19 May 1984, the Archbishop of Philadelphia, Cardinal John Joseph Krol, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On 21 June 2002, Pope John Paul II appointed titular bishop of Cluain Iraird and ordered him auxiliary bishop in Philadelphia. The archbishop of Philadelphia, Cardinal Anthony Joseph Bevilacqua, donated to him on September 5th of that year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Allentown, Edward Peter Cullen, and the Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia, Robert Patrick Maginnis. On 8 June 2006 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him. Bishop of Raleigh. The inauguration took place on 4 August of the same year.
