Michael Joseph Kaniecki

Michael Joseph Kaniecki SJ ( born April 13, 1935 in Detroit, † 6 August 2000) was Bishop of Fairbanks.

Life

Michael Joseph Kaniecki joined the Jesuit order, and received on 5 June 1965, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 8 March 1984 Coadjutor Bishop of Fairbanks. The Bishop of Fairbanks, Robert Louis Whelan SJ, donated to him on 1 May of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of Anchorage, Francis Thomas Hurley, and the Bishop of Juneau, Michael Hughes Kenny.

With the resignation of Robert Louis Whelan's on June 1, 1985, he followed them, as Bishop of Fairbanks.
