Michal Horňák

Michal Horňák ( born April 28, 1970 in Vsetín ) is a former Czech football player and current coach.

Career

As a player

Horňák started at Zbrojovka Vsetín, at age 16, he moved to TJ Gottwaldov. In 1988 he was hired by Sparta Prague and came in his first season in the 1st Czechoslovak league on five missions. He played the next year and a half as part of his military service for RH Cheb. In early 1991 he returned to Sparta, for which he completed 234 games in eleven seasons, it hit the defender 13 times.

Between 1995 and 1999 Horňák has also been used 38 times in the Czech national team, he was in the squad for the 1996 European Championships in England.

2001, there were over its zenith addition, he moved to LASK Linz in the Austrian second league. In the summer of 2003, he was obliged by the SFC Opava, but the commitment there could not be described as successful. After only one year Horňák moved back to Austria, this time for third division side SV Horn. In the spring of 2005, he suffered a hamstring injury, the contract was terminated. From 2005 to 2007 played the Vice European Champion 1996 in the Czech fourth division TJ Klatovy.

As a coach

Horňáks first coach stop was the FK Teplice, where he was an assistant coach in the spring of 2007. In the second half of the season 2007/ 08 Horňák was head coach of the second division club FC Zenit Čáslav. Since July 2008 he has been an assistant with the B team of Sparta Prague.
