Michal Hvorecký

Michal Hvorecký ( born December 29, 1976 in Bratislava) is a Slovak writer and journalist.

Life

Michal Hvorecký lives in Bratislava. He has published three novels, two collections of short stories and essays. In the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Die Zeit as well as in numerous other magazines essays and short stories have been published by him. He was awarded several literary prizes and was among other things a fellow of the Literary Colloquium Berlin.

His books have been translated into Italian, Polish, Czech and German. He also writes regularly for various magazines and newspapers, such as appearing in Bratislava daily SME.
