Michal Kovář

Michal Kovar ( born September 8, 1973 in Olomouc) is a Czech football player.

Kovar began playing football at the age of seven years at Sigma Olomouc. There he moved in 1991 by the A- juniors in the senior squad on, in the next ten years completed the defender 289 top-flight appearances for his club, but he met nine times into the opposing goal. For the season 2001 /02 he moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for SSV Reutlingen, a year later he was bound by the Bundesliga side Hansa Rostock. Kovar 2004 returned back to his original club Sigma Olomouc, in the 2005/06 season he was team captain.

In the summer of 2006 Valstimil Palička took over the team, Kovar sat under new coach, with the exception of the 3rd matchday, where he played his first league 300 in the Czech Republic, on the substitutes' bench. He moved into third League ( MSFL ) to Fotbal Fulnek, where he signed a three-year contract. With Fulnek he succeeded in 2006/07, promotion to the second division. At the beginning of the 2007/08 season he was loaned out to league rivals FC Hlučín, after a few weeks and before league start, he returned to Fulnek.

For the 2009/10 season Kovar moved to HFK Olomouc.
