Michele Pellegrino

Cardinal Michele Pellegrino ( born April 25, 1903 in Centallo, Cuneo province, Italy, † October 10, 1986 in Turin) was Archbishop of Turin.

Life

Michele Pellegrino studied in Milan and Turin, the subjects of Catholic theology and philosophy and received on September 19, 1925, the sacrament of Holy Orders. In addition to temporary jobs as a pastor, he continued his university studies. From 1929 to 1933 he served as chaplain director at the Seminary of Fossano. In the years 1933 to 1943, he held various leadership roles in the diocese Fossano. From 1943 to 1965 he was a lecturer at the Catholic Faculty of the University of Turin.

1965 Michele Pellegrino was appointed Archbishop of Turin. He received his episcopal consecration on 17 October 1965, the Bishop of Fossano, Giovanni Francesco Dadone. The Archdiocese was Pellegrino to 1977 as chief shepherd before. In 1967 he became Pope Paul VI. as cardinal priest with the titular church of the Most Holy Nome di Gesù in the College of Cardinals.

Michele Pellegrino died on October 10, 1986 in Turin and was buried in the family vault in Roata Chiusani.
